Desert Tour

Jordan is rich in local flora and fauna, migrating wildlife and unique geological features and landscapes. Jordan has a moderate climate that welcomes outdoor exploration year-round. We can arrange special desert and mountain treks, including camping in Wadi Rum and the Wadi Dana Nature Reserve. At the Al Azraq oasis wetlands and nearby Shumairi wildlife reserve, your clients can observe creatures in the semi-wild and learn about the major local conservation programs. Nawafir Travel provides a complete set of camping equipment (European 2-pax tents or luxury Bedouin tents), experienced drivers, and Bedouin guides. Cook and camp team available upon request. Self-driving is possible if the driver has off-road experience. Minimum 2 cars. Best travel period for desert expeditions: April to November.

4 x 4 Tours in Wadi Rum

How about an off-road excursion in Wadi Rum through deep canyons and sand dunes’. Be sure you will return home covered in dust and sand, learning first-hand what a ’dust-devil’ can do. Sports-minded travelers revel in the experience of exploring the rugged terrain of the Jordanian desert. We will explore contrasting landscapes, desert, archaeological sites and natural wonders, with breath-taking views.

Caravan Camel Tour in Wadi Rum

This tour can be arranged from 2 to 5 days including Arabic dinners and overnight stays in luxury Bedouin tents. The tour starts and ends in the village of Wadi Rum. We will follow the ancient caravan routes of the Nabateans, riding through the mountains and sand dunes. No camel riding experience required. The group will be escorted by local Bedouins.

Horse Riding in Wadi Rum

Arabian mares are arguably the finest horses in the world. We provide these superior mounts in all our horse-riding tours, no matter what your level of expertise, from beginner, intermediate to professional. Our excursions combine visits of many fascinating archaeological sites with the thrill of riding one of these beautiful animals. We ride approximately 7-8 hours per day covering a distance of 50-55 km per day of desert and / or mountains. All horses are female Arabian, well trained and familiar with the desert.
