Beirut City Tour

Half - day

Drive along the seashore to the picturesque Pigeons Rock, and then continue through the Hamra commercial area and on to the National museum. Last stop will be at Martyrs Square, the old Beirut city-center completely ravaged by war, to discover the largest urban archeological excavations in the world and to see how this area has been reconstructed to regain its former cosmopolitan glamour.

Dog River & Jeita Grotto & Byblos

Drive North to the Dog River where History`s great conquerors left carved on the cliffs 19 inscriptions to immortalize their glories. 20 km north of Beirut the road leads to the Jeita Grotto, one of Lebanons most unusual tourist attractions, an enormous cavern festooned with stalactites and stalagmites of every imaginable shape and size. Continue the drive towards Jbeil (Byblos), the Phoenician city known arguably as the oldest continually inhabited town in the world, where you visit the Crusaders castle, the Phoenician temples, the Roman theatre, the Royal Necropolis and conclude with a lovely promenade through its picturesque port.

Harissa & Byblos

Full day

Drive north on the slopes of Mount Lebanon to the village of Harissa, where you will visit the Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral. Continue your journey further to the north through the town of Jounieh towards Jbeil (Byblos), the Phoenician city known arguably as the oldest continually inhabited town in the world. In Byblos, visit the Crusaders castle, the Phoenician temples, the Roman theatre, the Royal Necropolis and enjoy a lovely promenade through its port.

Deir Al Kamar & Beittedine

Full day

Drive south to Deir El Kamar, former capital of Mount Lebanon, which still retains several palaces in its pretty town square, as well as the famous Marie Baz Museum, the Notre Dame church and Fakhreddine mosque dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. After a short stop, proceed to Beiteddine to visit the magnificent Palace of Emir Bechir known as a masterpiece of oriental architecture, and which today has become the summer residence of  the Lebanese president.;

Sidon & Echmoun

Full day

Drive south along the coast to Sidon. The visit starts with the Castle of the Sea, a Crusader castle from the 13th century, and the Khan El Frange, a typical Caravanserai. From there a short drive leads to Echmoun, home of a famous Phoenician temple.

Baalbek & Anjar

Full day

Cross the mountains into the fertile Bekaa valley to visit the fortified city of Anjar, built in the early 8th century by the Umayyad Caliph Al-Walid. Then follow the valley north to Baalbek, one of the largest and best preserved examples of Roman architecture in the world, to visit its three massive temples dedicated to the gods Jupiter, Bacchus and Venus.
